The magic fingers have done it again.

Hair update!!!! YAY!! Celeste put her fingas in this yet AGAIN!! Her mamma colored me up, got me back to blonde.

YES! I feel back to normal. Would you believe I was born naturally blonde with a patch of red... Which definitely alludes to many aspects of my inherent nature of naturality. Lol. A tangent is soon to follow in t-minus 3, 2, 1.

My family history dates back to Ireland, hence an explanation of a patch of red hair. I'm predisposed to ditzy-esque behavior, as directly related to blonde... But with the red, thank God; I have a deep seated root of intelligence, albeit overshadowed by the blonde becky moments.

Okay, and now! Back to our regularly scheduled program. Celeste. Blonde. Natural. Curls!

Last night after I washed with the neutralizing shampoo, I used some horrible macadamia oil and argan oil that immediately began to crunch my hair and dry it out. YUK! I immediately washed that junk out with my black shampoo and used some of the conditioner that came with the color- yes i went chemical on my curls... I know I know! but, after i rinsed out the conditioner, I put some regular old every day run of the mill extra virgin olive oil and let it air dry. Soft & moist just like we like it!

I got home, tied it up with a bonnet, but by this morning it had dried out- damn that chemical color (and to get the front blonde, we bleached it, so you already know it's struggling for air, for moisture, barely strong as is). I used my shea butter mix with the whipped coconut oil I got the other day. The softness lasted a little bit, but by mid day the crunch came back- OMG! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well because of the sponge-like consistency in my hair, to keep my curls in good condition, Celeste used some of my home made liquid curl moisture mix in keeping my hair moist. NO MORE CRUNCHY COLORED CURLS!!!

rose water/ glycerin
olive oil/ clove oil
tea tree oil
mist bodifier
shea butter
avocado oil

shake it up, make sure everything is mixed, and you're good to go. spray until wet, do whatchu gotta do.

Initial pictures are here, more to come. Sort of a before/ after...

Razmatazz Pasta

INGREDIENTS
half a stick of butter
2-3 cloves garlic minced
2 cup water or seafood broth... it's up to you which to use
approximately 2-4 tbs of cajun seasoning. i used slap ya mamma or tony chachere (just be careful because both of these are really really salty)
1 medium tomato, diced (or a can of rotel tomatoes)
3 or 4 stalks celery
1/2 bell pepper (the red bells add a great color and a tiny amount of flavor kick)
1/2 onion
**cilantro
1/4 cup flour
black pepper to taste
gumbo file
3 creole sausage
10 jumbo- I mean HUGE shrimps
pasta

In a medium pot mix the water, garlic, 1/4 stick of butter, and cajun seasonings on medium heat. Boil for about 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Add your shrimp and cook just until they turn a pinkish color (about 4 minutes or so). Remove the shrimp and set aside. You'll peel and chop them later on.

Use between 1/2 to about a cup of the broth from the shrimp. Start out with 1/4 cup of the broth. Turn the fire up to a medium heat and whisk in the flour, little by little until the mixture begins to bubble and looks like smooth, wet paste. Do not stop whisking, because if you stop, your base could burn... if it burns, YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT HESITATION HAVE TO START OVER. Gently whisk in the remaining broth, 1/4 stick of butter, gumbo file, black pepper, celery, bell pepper, onion, and tomatoes. **you can add a few sprigs of finely chopped cilantro here if you want to. Taste to see if the flavor you like is there, adding seasoning to your liking. Bring to a boil. Boil for a few minutes, about 3. Turn down the heat to a low, gentle simmer for about 10 minutes.

In a seperate skillet, cook your sausage. The kind I used, I cut the skin off, and cooked it like ground sausage, but you may have links. If you are using links, slice them, and then quarter the slices so they are bite size.

As the sausage is cooking, peel your shrimp. They should be cooled off by now. Chop them into bite size chunks. Add them to the sauce. When your sausage is done cooking add it to the sauce too. Continue simmering for about 10 minutes.

Boil your pasta. Drain. Toss with the pasta with the sauce. Walla!

ENJOY!

It's been a while

I don't know what I've been doing with my life that has kept me so busy from my blog.

Maybe slighty disenfranchised, I decided to give my attention to task to work, which hasn't been working out so well... but honestly, I'm not sure why I haven't blogged in so long.

Spring Break was a blast, ending with a massive day after drinking story worthy of a sequel to the Hangover. WOW! The kid and I went to the beach, and hung out with my ex's sister at the water park, ate at some really crappy sea food restaurants, but some good ones too, also enjoyed some quality fun times at Moody Gardens on the awesome 4D Dora and Diego experience, and aquarium WHERE WE WALKED AMONG SHARKS & PENGUINS!!! Yeah, I am still stoked about the experience!

Now, back at work... and I'm so ready to be out for the summer.

Anyway, this was one of those random posts. Just checkin in!

Random Thoughts

Ire gives way
To prayers desire
He listened for the queen
slayed by the virgin sons.
She had been broken, entwined,
bonded
spirit ties, love, lies, Lord.
In the darkest light she found solace and companionship, closeness at its best.
Fervent and forlorn was the intimacy between the two.
Deeply devoted and persistent on His promise.
She wisely worked while waiting and arose in season renewed

Random Thoughts II

she gave him that come hither stare, and pointed to the chair. glimmer in her eye, she smiled a devilish grin, bout to get it in when he sees her skin through the lace so thin. she chuckled to herself, locked the door, turned on a dime. toes skirting the floor, her love swimming, she chuckled again, and over her shoulder winked. the desire, by the hour, he's wired. she bout to become this slave's nighttime supplier
