Natural Hair Pandemic Hair Show, July 30, 2011

So, the day is finally here, and I'm here at the Natural Hair Pandemic show at University of Houston, singing Anita Baker's Body and Soul basking in the beauty of all the naturals here.

The vendors are setting up, getting their wares together. Classroom instructors are preparing for their classes later in the morning. Karma Soul, Huetiful steamer, Jane Carter, Sickle Cell Soldier Network, Glamorouz Girlz Boutique, Kenyan Kandy and other awesome accessories, aromatherapy, hair products galore are in the building.

This is going to be a great show! Come thru! Tickets are 10 dollars. There are raffles for accessories, hair products, books, and all kinds of CRAZY COOL STUFF!

There are people from everywhere, and the networking is already going up!

Girls are having fun with each other, playing ring around the rosie, their beautiful curls flying as they spin each other around.

Today, Natural Hair Pandemic has a great show lined up!

Mordecai rocked the stage with his performance, Tiki Glam blazed with her awesome models and amazing fashion statements! Lakeia Bailey introduced us to the Sickle Cell Disease Soldier Network, Inc and spoke on the disease that is affecting the African American community in ways that most people are completely unaware of. Proceeds from the show went towards SCD Soldier Network, Inc. There were raffles going on, and people were putting in to win Shea Moisture gift sets, Karen Body Beautiful gift boxes, Tangle Teezers and more! DeAndre Wright gave us an awesome taste of her new mixtape Writer's Block. Wyze Words did some spoken word that had the crowd going. I sat in on the Mommy and Me class, and learned that the little things that happen to our hair make a huge impact on it. Althea taught us about retaining moisture at night and the dangers of letting our hair rub against the headrest in the car creating breakage.

I got some bad ass earrings from KarmaSoul and an all natural body fragrance from Ms. Poo. I can't wait to get my clutch bag from one of the ladies who makes handbags and other cutsie things like bags and pillows.

I got to meet some chicas I come across on Twitter and Facebook like @CICinspireme and @bnaturalapparel.

It was so great to see everyone who came out!
